Anti Discrimination and Anti Harassment PolicyTimes Change staff and volunteers adhere to the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) which provides that every person has a right to freedom from discrimination because of: "race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, family status, disability, record of offenses or receipt of public assistance." It is the policy of Times Change to recognize the dignity and worth of every person and to provide for equal rights and opportunities without discrimination. Times Change seeks to create a climate of understanding and mutual respect so that each person feels a part of Times Change and is able to contribute fully to the development and well being of the Times Change community. It is our aim that the composition of Times Change staff, volunteers and clients reflect the diversity of the community we serve. To this end, discriminatory or harassing behaviour will not be tolerated. Such behaviour includes written or spoken comments as well as overt actions. It includes unwelcome remarks, jokes, innuendos, or taunting about a person's racial or ethnic background, colour, place of birth, sex, citizenship, ancestry, cultural differences, sexual orientation, family or marital status, or disability. It includes displaying racist, sexist, derogatory or offensive pictures or materials. It is understood that to work as a Times Change staff member, volunteer or placement student or to participate as a client, you accept and endorse the above.
