Located in downtown Toronto,
Times Change Women's Employment Service is a unique
non-profit community agency that inspires, supports, and
empowers women toward their career goals. Since 1974, Times
Change has contributed to the economic and social equality of all women by helping them obtain
satisfying ways to earn a living, and continues to be a leader in responding to the changing needs of women and the labour market.
In a safe and comfortable environment that welcomes diversity and
respects individual needs, women have access to quality resources and counselling,
free of charge, for as long as needed.
A well-managed single layer organization, Times Change utilizes the skills and input
of all staff members and volunteers to provide professional client-centred services.
At the heart of Times Change is the popular Career Planning Workshop. Our Educational Counsellor, Julie Warrington, shares her journey from massage therapist to career counsellor with the help of this program:
"Before finding Times Change [in 2004] I was a massage therapist practicing at home...really feeling unfulfilled. I had tried personality assessments and career testing before. I had also purchased quite a few self-help or career books. I would buy the book, get started, get overwhelmed and stop. At Times Change I chose to attend the Career Planning Workshop and was so impressed with the process - an expansive look at yourself grounded in solid labour market research. Now I am the Educational Counsellor at Times Change, and I absolutely love my job!"
